General Information about the Anatoliko Selino Municipal Unit
The Municipal Unit of Anatoliko Selino comprises the southeastern county of Crete and consists of the communities of Epanochori, Kampanos, Rodovanio, Skafi, Sougia and Temenia. It is an area of wild beauty, much vegetation, exquisite as well as secluded beaches with lots of fish. You can visit a great number of byzantine churches with murals like that of Agios Onoufrios in Kampanos or Agia Irini in Sougia as well as some remarkable archaeological sites like Kantanos, Elyros, Yrtakina, Syia, Lissos and Viennos. The Municipal Unit offers two rather beautiful gorges, that of Agia Eirini and that of Trypitis while the beach of Sougia is thought to be one of the best in Greece. Moreover in Temenia you can visit the natural spa.
