General Information about the Mithimnis Municipal Unit The Mithimnis Municipal Unit consists of the communities of Voulgaro, Malathyros, Pervolakia, Potamida, Rokka, Sassalos, Sfakopigado, Topolia, Faleliana, Charethiana, Kaloudiana and Drapanias. All of the above villages lie among a rich layer of vegetation and wild nature. Near many of those you can visit various gorges like the one in Voulgaro or Topolia, Rokka, Sassalo and Malathyros as well as a number of churches. Particularly interesting is the cave of Agia Sofia in Katsomatado inside of which is the church of Agia Sofia as well as many stalagmites. In Drapanias you can visit the archaeological site of Mithimna and the Venetian Villa Trevizan. In Potamida there is the house of Manos Katrakis and the Komolithoi.
