General Information about the Souda Municipal Unit The Municipal Unit of Souda consists of the communities of Souda, Kalami, Tsikalaria and Megala Chorafia. It is worth to visit the Souda harbor which constitutes the biggest natural port in the mediterranean, the salvaged Turkish settlement of Kato Souda with its very popular fish-taverns and the Venetian castle in Souda South of Souda and in a rather high altitude lies the village Malaksa which took it's name from the mountain of Malaksa. On the foothills of the mountain lies the village Tsikalaria, picturesque and authentic with the turkish mosque overlooking its town square.
